Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a widely used solvent that is miscible with water and a wide range of organic solvents. 

It is also extensively used as an extractant in biochemistry and cell biology.

It is Used as a reactant for chemical synthesis Antifreeze Hydraulic fluid, Paint remover, Medicinal Anti-inflammatory agent.

DMSO is used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to inhibit secondary structures in the DNA template or the DNA primers.

DMSO is predominantly used as a topical analgesic, a vehicle for topical application of pharmaceuticals, as an anti-inflammatory, and as an antioxidant.
