| Uses | Potassium chloride is a potassium salt used to treat hypokalemia. It is in the electrolyte supplement class of medications. Potassium chloride is usually prescribed in the form of a capsule or a tablet. It can also be administered orally in the liquid form. KCl is used as a fertilizer, in medicine, in scientific applications, domestic water softeners (as a substitute for sodium chloride salt), and in food processing, where it may be known as E number additive E508. |
